Privacy Policy – Monivea Road Limited
This Privacy Policy applies to information you provide to us, Monivea Road Limited (“Monivea Road”), company number 15703107.
The information you are providing may include “personal information” as defined by the UK GDPR. Where we use the term “personal information” in this policy, we are using it in the way that it is defined in the Data Protection Act 2018.
What is personal information?
Personal information is, generally, information that identifies an individual. It includes information such as your name, address, and phone number. It also includes other data, such as cookies.
How we collect your personal information
We will collect and store your personal information in a lawful and unintrusive manner.
Where it is reasonably practical to do so, we will collect your personal information directly from you, but we will sometimes obtain personal information from other sources, including where it is provided to us unilaterally by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable steps to ensure that you are made aware of the information provided to us by the third party, unless it is information that we already have, or information that we have already informed you we are obtaining from a third party.
Some common ways in which we obtain your personal information are:
-
- Where you access our website and provide us with information, (for example, by completing a form, or by permitting our website to use cookies);
- Through phone calls and emails.
- From any discussions you may have with any of our representatives; and
- From third parties, such as health practitioners who may prescribe to you.
When we collect personal information we will, where appropriate and where possible, explain to you why we are collecting the information and how we plan to use it. In general, however, any collection or use will be consistent with this policy unless we inform you otherwise.
Why we collect your personal information
We collect your personal information for the two primary purposes of:
-
- Providing our services to you; and
- Marketing our services.
We may also use your personal information for secondary purposes that are closely related to the primary purposes, where it is in circumstances where we believe that you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.
When you provide personal information to us, we may indicate at the time that you provide it that we are obtaining it for a different or additional primary purpose than those identified above. Where that is the case, that primary purpose is a primary purpose for the purpose of this policy.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to provide health services to you, and for the purpose of marketing our services.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties in order to provide services to you, and for the purpose of marketing our services.
How we may store and transfer your information
Your personal information may be accessed from, transferred to, and/or stored Inin countries outside the UK and European Economic Area (“EEA”). These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the UK and EEA.
Where we transfer your information outside of the UK and EEA in this way, we take steps to ensure that appropriate security measures are taken with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected in the ways required by data protection law as outlined in this policy. These steps include imposing contractual obligations on the recipient of your personal information. Please contact us using the details at the end of this policy for more information about the protections that we put in place and to obtain a copy or access to the relevant documents.
If you use our services whilst you are outside the UK and EEA, your information may be transferred outside the UK and EEA in order to provide you with those services.
How we disclose your personal information
Your personal information may be lawfully disclosed in a number of circumstances including the following:
-
- Third parties where you consent to the use or disclosure; and
- Where required or authorised by law.
We will disclose your personal information to other treating health practitioners where we consider that it is appropriate to do so or is required under the law
Sensitive Information
“Sensitive information” includes more sensitive information about a person, including health information.
Sensitive information includes information about an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, professional or political or religious affiliations or memberships, sexual orientation or practices, criminal record, health, genetics and/or biometrics.
While sensitive information is still personal information, there are additional restrictions that apply to it due to its sensitivity. In particular, the use and disclosure of it is more limited.
In general, sensitive information will be used by us only with your consent and for:
-
- The primary purpose for which it was obtained; or
- A secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
Unless we otherwise indicate, sensitive information is collected and used by us for the primary purpose of providing you with health services, including the dispensing of medicines.
We may also collect, use or disclose your sensitive information where it is otherwise required or authorised by law. This may include, for example, disclosure of sensitive information to lessen or prevent a serious threat to a person’s life, health or safety.
We may also use and disclose your sensitive information where a “permitted health situation” applies, as determined by privacy laws.
We will not use your sensitive information for marketing purposes unless you explicitly agree, in writing, to us doing so.
Security of your personal information
We will store your personal information in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. The nature of our business means that we take privacy seriously and our staff are trained to treat personal and sensitive information very carefully.
We will store some of your personal information, including sensitive information, in software specifically designed for health care settings. Sensitive information is not stored offshore.
Your personal information will generally be retained and stored securely by us for a minimum of 7 years after its collection except where it is appropriate for it to be de-identified or destroyed prior to that time.
Access and amendments to your personal information
You may access the personal information that we hold about you at any time. If you wish to access your personal information, please contact us in writing. If you do so, may require identification from you to confirm your identity.
We will not charge you a fee for such a request, but may charge an administrative fee for providing a copy of your records, where that fee will fairly reflect the expense to us of preparing and providing those records.
In general, you can contact us in writing to update and/or correct any personal information we hold. There are some exceptions to that, but subject to those exceptions, we will update and/or correct any such information once we receive a request from you to do so.
You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing, or by clicking on any unsubscribe links in our promotional material.
If you do not provide us with your information, or do not permit us to use it in accordance with this policy
If you do not provide us with the personal information we need, or you do not permit us to use it as set out in this policy, we may not be able to provide you with our products or services.
If this is the case, we will inform you of that issue, and try and resolve it with you.
Complaints about our use of your personal information
If you have a complaint about our collection, use, storage, disclosure or similar of your personal information, please contact us in writing at hello@monivearoad.co.uk
We will do our best to resolve any concerns that you may have. However, if after you have contacted us, you remain concerned, then the matter is to be referred to an external dispute resolution scheme if possible.
If, after we have responded to your complaint and any external dispute resolution process (where appropriate) is complete, you can make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We may make changes to this Privacy policy from time to time. If we make any major changes, or any changes which directly affect the services provided to you or the data collected or processed by us, we will notify you of those changes directly. For all other changes and enhancements, we will notify you by posting an updated version on our Website.
